How to check if a server is 32-bit or 64-bit

Many times while installing a application you need to check if a sever is a 32-bit server or 64-bit server.
You can easily check this by running the commands from shell :

[email protected][#] getconf LONG_BIT

[email protected][#] uname -m

If the output is : i686 the it is a 32-bit server and if the output is : x86_64 then it is 64-bits server.

That’s all you are done.
